His workshop has an enjoyable reputation throughout France for Austin-Healey restoration. Eric had known this car since 1980 since it was entered in various Rally VEC in Touraine. It was rebuilt in 1988 by two young coachbuilders from the Dijon area of France and sometime around 1993 it returned to Eric Peru workshop as a customer car. The BN2 : I believe that it was repainted two years ago, the paint is still glossy and shows very well. It is painted Ivory White with an Azure Blue stripe, the USA colors of the period. The body and in particular the frame, neither the frame nor the body are showing signs of rust as the car has been sheltered from inclement weather. Mechanicals: Engine + gearbox + overdrive + driveshaft + back axle Aeroquip flex hoses replaced the original copper pipes in the oil pump. The oil pump assembly was rebuilt and hardened steel was used where necessary so when the engine is pressed hard, I do not have to worry about oil pressure. The engine head was rebuilt and a reinforced racing head gasket was used. The gearbox was dismantled and rebuilt along with the overdrive which was adjusted to optimize its operation. Both U-Joints on the driveshaft were replaced and the rear end is from a BJ8. All the rubber bushings on the suspension were also replaced and a 20mm front anti-roll bar was installed. Running gear Disc brakes installed at the front and drum brakes were retained at the rear but were rebuilt. The complete hydraulic system was replaced and the flexible hoses were replaced with braided stainless ones. The braking system is now far superior to what it originally was. The clutch system was replaced with a hydraulic one to improve reliability. The front suspension, one of the fragile area on this model when new, has been totally overhauled with new parts, negative camber was also applied for better cornering and new 72 spoke wheels with 165 X15 tyres are on all four corners. The lever shock absorbers were retained but Eric Peru has improved on the system in a way that they can be refilled according to the ride sought. This car is not a true copy of the 100M model. However, improvements over the years, especially to the chassis and suspension, have provided a real advantage over the old system. I hope this gives the reader a good overall picture of this car. Should you have any questions to know the conditions, please Yours truly, Didier MONGIN
